A bath is so much more than just washing.
It is a mini spa moment. A pause. Sometimes a small splash party.
But above all: quality time together.
And because that soft baby skin is extra sensitive, it deserves extra gentle care too. No overload of products. Just what is really needed
Not every day, you know 😉
For newborn babies, 2 to 3 baths a week are more than enough.
On other days a quick freshen-up with a wash cloth is perfect.
Bathing too often can dry out sensitive baby skin, and of course we want to avoid that
Step 1: Warm, but not too warm
The ideal bath temperature? Around 37°C.
Nice and warm, but still gentle on the skin.
Not sure? Test the water with your wrist.
Does it feel comfortable to you? Then you are usually fine.
And keep it short:
5 to 10 minutes is ideal.
Step 2: Choose gentle products
Your baby's skin is super sensitive. That is why everything comes down to mildness, gentleness and safe ingredients.
What should you look out for?
- a mild baby wash gel or shampoo
- pH-neutral products
- dermatologically tested
- without harsh perfume
- extra care for dry skin
Many parents today deliberately choose natural or vegan baby products. Not because they have to, but because gentleness and safety come first. Our baby products are organic, vegan and contain only 0.2% perfume, specially developed for sensitive baby skin.
For the very smallest, a nourishing bath oil is not a needless luxury but genuinely recommended. Delicate baby skin loses moisture quickly during bathing. A mild bath oil helps support the natural skin barrier, prevent dryness and keep the skin soft, supple and protected — even with dry or sensitive skin.
Does your child love to play in the bath? Then deliberately choose a gentle bubble bath without sulfates. Sulfates can dry out the skin considerably and disturb the sensitive skin barrier. A mild bubble bath not only gives soft bubbles without that tight feeling afterwards, it also turns bath time into a lovely sensory and relaxing ritual for your child.
Step 3: Pat dry gently
After the bath there is no need to rush. Gently pat the skin dry with a soft towel. Don't rub!
And don't forget the folds: the neck, armpits, bottom and behind the ears. Moisture easily lingers there… and we'd rather it didn't
Step 4: Moisturise if needed
Does the skin feel a little dry?
Then a mild body lotion can help. A small amount is enough. Massage it in gently and enjoy that cuddle moment together 💛. Remember: well-hydrated skin is healthy, strong skin.
P.S. Did you know that our Oh, Baby! bath oil is much more than just a bath oil? You can use it in a surprising number of ways — from extra nourishing care to clever care tricks for the whole family. It is no coincidence that HLN has already written about the many uses of our bath oil. Read the article here.
